Spent the evening of Christmas Day trying the Holiday Tasting Menu at this intimate restaurant. Highlights included the Kabocha Pumpkin Croquettes, Dynamite Rolls, and the A Taste of Gion, Kyoto dessert. The chefs did a wonderful job incorporating seasonal flavors and spices throughout the menu without it being overwhelming. The drinks were unique and delicious. Attentive service, fantastic pacing. Would definitely return!

Amazing food and experience, we loved the tasting menu. Would definitely recommend the Matcha Russian drink. The servers were also very nice.

This has just become my favourite restaurant in the whole US. The food is out of this world, and the cocktails are very sophisticated and tasty. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is very relaxing, romantic, and enjoyable. Leave some space for the desert!! I’m coming back here!

This was undeniably the worst meal I’ve had in LA and likely the worst meal I’ve had in years. There are fantastic gluten free and vegan restaurants in the city, so doing this cuisine well is certainly possible. There was no seasoning, no flavor, soggy textures that should have been crispy etc. I really am in awe of how bad the food was. Their prices are offensive given this near inedible food. We ordered 8 dishes, so truly gave it a fair chance. It feels like a scam. Please don’t waste your money.

Shojin was wonderful. We had the tasting menu. Each dish was a taste and visual delight. Perhaps our best vegan meal ever. The staff was friendly and perfectly attentive. We will return.

The food here is incredible! Everything we had was amazing but I highly recommend the spicy “tuna” crispy rice and the halloween holiday roll (can’t remember the name). We were the first people to try it and our server asked for feedback and was so excited that we ordered it. Service was too notch!

not vegan but went here on recommendation. cool back patio and very friendly service. the tasting menu changes every month, and is 10 small bite courses with the entire thing taking about 2 hours for about $70 ea. we had a lot of fun …
